Scott McCoy is General Counsel and Managing Partner of Cold Springs Partners. His work for the firm includes work as a fractional General Counsel and special project counsel and for managing the firm’s investment portfolio. His legal work also encompasses working with clients on compliance investigations, commercial joint development agreements and advising board members on strategy and governance.
Following studies that included a year at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po), Scott received his Bachelor’s degree in Politics from Washington & Lee University in 1993. In 1996, Scott earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law Center. After law school, he began work as Counsel for the Exxon Mobil Corporation in Houston, Texas.
After five years at ExxonMobil, he worked as an Associate General Counsel for Thales USA, Inc. from 2001 to 2010, advising both its regional headquarters in Washington DC and global organization based in Paris, France.
From 2010 to 2016, Scott was Vice President, Secretary, and Compliance Officer for Siemens GT, Inc., a public sector and energy-focused affiliate of the global industrial conglomerate, Siemens AG.
After leaving Siemens GT, he focused on the operation of his own cattle farm in Bath County, Virginia which he had founded in 2006. Known as Cold Spring Farm, the operation focused on cattle, organic hay, and is now a luxury vacation rental adjacent to the George Washington National Forest.
In 2021, he was named the Executive Vice President and General Counsel of the Denver International Airport where he led a large team of lawyers, paralegals, and legal assistants.
More recently, Scott deepened his long-term interest in longevity and wellness, becoming a multi-location owner and operator of several top-rated wellness spas in Colorado that provide a range of highly-effective IV and injection therapies.
He is a member of the Colorado and Texas Bar Associations. Outside work, he is an avid hiker, skier, cyclist and DJ.
